It was the 13th “Racenight” at the Essen Motor Show last Friday and ABT Sportsline had two reasons to be happy: not only was the ABT RS6-R Avant a winner, its ABT Golf GTI was too after AUTO BILD Sportscars’ readers had voted for their favourites in 17 categories and rated more than 143 production and tuned cars.
With its latest Audi RS6 version, the fast 730 hp/537 kW ABT RS6-R, ABT Sportsline won convincingly in the estate tuning category. And the Avant had also got an extra sporty outfit: an ABT height adjustable spring kit and 22’’ ABT DR alloy wheels in combination with specially geared high-performance tyres by Dunlop. The estate’s looks are completed by an extensive body kit using red exposed carbon on certain body parts.
And its interpretation of the Golf GTI also made ABT Sportsline a winner. In the compact- class tuning category, the readers were much impressed by the powerful product the globally largest tuner of cars produced by the Volkswagen Group had come up with. TheABT Golf GTI combines a unique front design, a rear skirt set with a four-pipe exhaust system and ABT ER-C sport-type wheels, which make it really one of a kind.
