From now on, ABT Sportsline is one of four exclusive partners in Germany that sell the new Dunlop Sport Maxx Race to customers and tire dealers. Designed as the crown jewel of the ultra high-performance sports segment, the tire offers the best grip and braking ability for super sports cars and can be used on both a race track and the road.
The developers thought of cars like the ABT R8 GT R when in conjunction with the motor sports department they defined this new tire’s specifications. The rubber mixture comes directly from motor sports; special polymers make for extremely good road-holding capacities and thus guarantee top acceleration and deceleration results.
The asymmetric tread with its extra-wide outer shoulders makes for the best possible cornering ability. At the same time, four continuous tread lines dissipate the water when the road is wet and thus make for full road worthiness in any weather. The tire is also made of materials used in aviation and other high-tech industries in order to guarantee utmost stability at high speeds: “The Dunlop Sport Maxx Race is the result of an unique collaboration between our engineers developing either racing or normal tires“, Dunlop’s director of development, Dr. Bernd Löwenhaupt, says. “We have been able to create a tire here that is fully road- and race-track-worthy, if you will.“ Adds ABT managing director Hans-Jürgen Abt: “With all its abilities, this new tire fits our ABT Sportsline products perfectly, which is why the new Dunlop partnership is really something quite special for us.
